SGNA 2003 UPDATE
eHEALTH IN GI PRACTICE: NEW DEVELOPMENTS & LEGAL ISSUES
Greetings to all SGNA members! I've just returned from the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, Inc. (SGNA) 30th Annual Course May 17-21, 2003, in Atlanta, Georgia. I've met some wonderful GI Nurses!! Several of us had the opportunity to spend the day together during two sessions that I presented, "Legal Issues In Telephone Nursing" and "eHealth In GI Practice-New Developments & Legal Issues."
During the "eHealth In GI Practice-New Developments & Legal Issues" session I demonstrated how eHealth can be used in the GI setting. I mentioned that I'd post some of the website links used during the presentation for you to share with your patients and with each other. I encourage you to post on the bulletin board your comments and suggestions as well as some of your favorite websites and I'll add them to this list. I am proposing several sessions, one on Telephone Nursing Issues, a large focus will be on pre and post telephone calls in light of HIPAA; another session on eHealth in GI Practice, and perhaps another all day session on Legal Issues In Telephone Nursing.
